GHS/OCD Hosts Critical Infrastructure Training Opportunities

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), will host the following training opportunities at the GHS/OCD facility in Agana Heights:

  • Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Awareness (AWR-213)
    • The half-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and will introduce participants to the key term, policy, guidance, and preparedness efforts required to safeguard the nation’s critical infrastructure.  
    • The target audience for the course include personnel involved with critical infrastructure and emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.

  • Wednesday, June 12 – Thursday, June 13, 2024, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment/Stakeholder Review (MGT-310)
    • The two-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and will assist local emergency responders and stakeholders in generating actionable preparedness data that communities can use to support a variety of emergency management efforts, including planning, training, exercises, and incident response and recovery.
    • The target audience for the course include emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.

  • Monday, June 17 – Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Conducting Risk Assessments for Critical Community Assets
    • The two-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is designed to teach participants how threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences determine risk and are given an opportunity to practice on-site vulnerability assessments of select local facilities.
    • The target audience for the course include personnel involved with critical infrastructure and emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.

  • Wednesday, June 19, 2024, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Critical Infrastructure Resilience and Community Lifelines (MGT-414)
    • The one-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is designed to teach participants how to develop a roadmap for progress toward the National Preparedness Goal by facilitating the development of resilience considerations and involving essential community critical infrastructure partners.
    • The target audience for the course include personnel involved with critical infrastructure and emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.

  • Thursday, June 20, 2024, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Physical and Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure (MGT-452)
    • The one-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and encourages collaboration efforts among individuals and organizations responsible for both physical and cybersecurity toward development of integrated risk management strategies that lead to enhanced capabilities necessary for protecting critical infrastructure.
    • The target audience for the course include personnel involved with critical infrastructure and emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.
