GHS/OCD Host Maritime Disaster Management Workshop

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the UCLA – Labor Occupational Safety and Health (LOSH) Program, will host the Maritime Disaster Management Workshop from May 10 – 11, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Port Authority of Guam training room, Piti.

The two-day course trains representatives from all organizations and agencies that would be involved in a major incident in the seaport, regarding the common scenarios, problems encountered, response procedures, safety issues, and how to work effectively together, using the Incident Command System. The course includes group problem solving, table-top exercises.

Attendees for the course include emergency response personnel who work in the maritime environment, from the Government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.
