GHS/OCD, MRFC Monitor Reports of Unidentified Debris on Guam

GHS/OCD, MRFC, local and federal partners will continue to assess the reports and provide updates as needed.  At this time, authorities are looking for the debris in order to ascertain its origins. If you have information in the whereabouts of the suspected debris, please contact the MRFC at (671) 475-0400 or mrfc@ghs.guam.gov.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including recent open source reports of unidentified debris found on Guam.

GHS/OCD remind residents and visitors to practice the “3Rs of Explosive Safety” when any unidentified explosive ordnance, munition, or unknown object is encountered:

  • Recognize - when you may have encountered a munition or unknown object that could be possibly dangerous.
  • Retreat - do not approach, touch, move, or disturb it, but carefully leave the area.
  • Report - call 911 and advise of what you saw and where you saw it.
