COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. The cumulative total from all labs will be reported on a nightly basis, unless unavailable. The following breakdown provides cumulative COVID-19 test results for Wednesday, May 13, 2020:

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) tested 87 individuals for COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 with conclusive results. Zero tested positive through DPHSS and 87 tested negative for SARS-CoV-2.

This evening’s results include samples from clinics, the Guam Memorial Hospital, the quarantine facility, and samples from the COVID-19 expanded testing at St. Dominic’s Senior Care in Barrigada Heights. DPHSS has targeted areas where infection may occur due to lack of access to health care and in facilities where the elderly reside.

The DPHSS overall count also includes probable cases of COVID-19 and confirmed positive cases tested by the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in San Diego, the U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) Guam, the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority (GMHA), Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC), the Guam National Guard (GUNG), and Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS).

To date, there have been 152 cases confirmed through COVID-19 testing provided with 5 deaths and 124 released from isolation. When a patient is released from isolation, he or she is no longer considered infectious. DPHSS uses CDC’s test-based criteria for releasing patients from isolation. This requires COVID-19 patients to have two consecutive negative tests at least 24 hours apart before being released from isolation. All remaining cases are in isolation.

Some cases that were previously released from isolation have returned to active isolation status after re-testing positive for COVID-19 through follow-up testing. To date, no additional cases have been linked to people released from isolation. As this is an evolving situation, information is subject to change with little to no notice.

Wildfire

Regularly clean the roof and gutters.
Maintain an area approximately 30’ away from you home that is free of anything that will burn, such as wood piles, dried leaves, newspapers and other brush.
Connect garden hoses long enough to reach any area of the home and fill garbage cans, tubs, or other large containers with water.
Review your homeowner's insurance policy and also prepare/update a list of your home's contents.

Turn on your TV/radio. You’ll get the latest weather updates and emergency instructions.
Know where to go. If you are ordered to evacuate, know the route to take and have plan of where you will go. Check-in with your friends and family.
Keep your car fueled, in good condition, and stocked with emergency supplies and a change of clothes.

Drought

Conserve water

Take shorter showers.

Turn off the water while brushing your teeth or shaving.
Run the washer less frequently and only when you have a full load.
Water your lawn less frequently and do so when the temperature is cooler in the early morning or late evening.
When you run the tap to heat or cool water, keep a pitcher to store the water and use it to water plants.
Avoid washing your car.

Practice fire prevention

Don't set off fireworks when conditions are dry.
Deposit cigarette butts in the proper receptacle to avoid starting a
Pour water over camp fires and backyard fire pits to ensure they are completely out before leaving them unattended.
