Mobile AHAWS Siren to be Tested Today

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) will conduct a test of one (1) All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) siren remotely from the test location facility at RadioCom, 129 Rojas St., Harmon Industrial Park, Tamuning, today, November 4, 2021, beginning at 2 p.m.

The siren test from the RadioCom location is not connected to an emergency and is being conducted to assess operations on one (1) mobile siren. The surrounding community and motorists in the area can expect to hear pre-scripted voice messaging announcing the start and end of the test, and six (6) different siren tones for about 10 seconds each.

Today’s remote test of the  mobile siren is separate from the pre-scheduled monthly test of all nineteen AHAWS sirens. Future tests of the AHAWS sirens will continue to be conducted on a monthly basis and will typically fall on the first Tuesday of each month.
