JIC RELEASE NO. 720 - 141st COVID-19-Related Fatality Reported; Twelve COVID-19 Cases with Variants of Concern Identified on Guam

The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 141st COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021. The patient was a 72-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on June 26, 2021. 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 719 - Fifteen of 630 Test Positive for COVID-19; Homebound Requests for COVID-19 Vaccinations; Three GDOE Students Test Positive for COVID-19; COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Fifteen (15) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 630 tests performed on July 7. Eight (8) cases were identified through contact tracing. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,423 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 93 cases in active isolation, and 8,190 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8. 

 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 718 - Fourteen of 617 Test Positive for COVID-19; Update on Homebound Requests for COVID-19 Vaccinations; COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Fourteen (14) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 617 tests performed on July 6. Seven (7) cases were identified through contact tracing. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,408 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 80 cases in active isolation, and 8,188 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.7. 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 717 - Twenty-one of 1,030 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; GDOE Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

Twenty-one (21) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 1,030 tests performed  Friday, July 2 through Monday, July 5. Ten (10) cases were identified through contact tracing. Two (2) cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,394 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 99 cases in active isolation, and 8,155 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.6. 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 716 - DPHSS Issues Guidance Memo 2020-11 Rev 13; Seven of 356 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) issued DPHSS Guidance Memo 2020-11 Rev. 13, relative to additional guidance pursuant to Governor’s Executive Order 2021-15, which amended restrictions for incoming travelers and quarantine facilities.
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 715 - Nine of 466 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

Nine (9) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 466 tests performed Wednesday, June 30. Four (4) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,366 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 91 cases in active isolation, and 8,135 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.9.
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 714 - Nine of 511 Test Positive for COVID-19; Two GDOE Students Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

Nine (9) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 511 tests performed Tuesday, June 29. To date, there have been a total of 8,357 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 89 cases in active isolation, and 8,128 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8.
   

Thunderstorm Advisory in Effect

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam issued a short term forecast for the coastal waters of Guam and Rota. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are developing across the coastal waters of Guam, with additional showers and thunderstorms developing east of Rota.

JIC RELEASE NO. 712 - Four of 220 Test Positive for COVID-19; Update on Homebound Requests; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

Four (4) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 220 tests performed Monday, June 28. Two (2) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,348 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 82 cases in active isolation, and 8,126 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is .7.
