The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 that struck 32 km SW of Merizo Village, Guam, with a depth of 54.2 km, at 12:39 p.m. (ChST). 

Earthquake Recorded

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 that struck 87 km W of Umatac Village, Guam, with a depth of 136.5 km, at 1:07 p.m. (ChST). 

Earthquake Recorded

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 that struck 53 km NNE of Yigo Village, Guam, with a depth of 118.6 km, at 2:20 p.m. (ChST). 

FEMA Hosts FY23 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Webinars

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in an effort to provide the community with the most up to date information on potential grant funding, encourages participation in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) upcoming virtual webinars regarding the fiscal year (FY) 2023 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).
   

Sanvu Downgraded to a Tropical Depression; No Direct Impact Expected for the Marianas at this Time

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor what has now been downgraded to Tropical Depression Sanvu. As of 1 p.m., Sanvu was located 10.2 degrees north latitude and 153.7 degrees east longitude, 225 miles northeast of Chuuk, 635 miles east-southeast of Saipan, and 645 miles east-southeast of Guam, moving west at 9 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 30 mph.
