JIC RELEASE NO. 780 - 152nd and 153rd COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported; COVID-19 Hospital Census: 63; Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 201 New Cases; COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Additional Updates

The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 152nd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) at approximately 10:03 a.m. on September 5, 2021. The patient was a 70-year-old male, unvaccinated, and had tested positive for COVID-19.
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 778 - DPHSS Active Enforcement of Executive Order No. 2021-21 Starts Today

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) Division of Environmental Health (DEH) will begin actively enforcing the provisions of Executive Order 2021-21, which requires Covered Establishments and contact sports to verify COVID-19 vaccinations of patrons and participants. Enforcement will be conducted with the assistance of the Guam Police Department. 

 
   

Thunderstorm Advisory in Effect

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 2:45 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 151st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) at approximately 8:36 a.m. on September 2, 2021. The patient was an 85-year-old female, unvaccinated who had tested positive for COVID-19.
   

Tropical Disturbance to Pass South of Guam; Showery Weekend Expected

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor a weak tropical disturbance south of Guam, near 10 degrees north latitude and 145 degrees east longitude. This broad disturbance is generating showers and thunderstorms across Chuuk and Pohnpei. Showers are expected to spread to the Marianas this weekend. The disturbance is forecast to move slowly west today through Saturday.
