No Tsunami Threat from Japan Earthquakes

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0, at 4:21 AM (ChST) and a 6.4 at 4:22 AM(CHsT).  The earthquake was reported about 252km or about 157 miles southeast of Iwo Jima, Japan.

As advised by the National Weather Service, Weather Forecast Office Guam, there is NO tsunami threat to Guam or the Marianas from the earthquake. 

This will be the only statement issued unless additional information is received.
