No Tsunami Threat to Marianas from New Zealand Earthquake

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded and earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 that occurred in the Kermadec Islands, New Zealand, with a depth of 205.7 km, at 4:41 p.m. (ChST)

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands from these earthquakes.  

This will be the final statement issued by GHS/OCD unless additional information is received.
