No Tsunami Threat to Marianas from Tonga Earthquake

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 that occurred 95 km WNW of Hihifo, Tonga with a depth of 210.1 km, at 2:02 a.m. (ChST)

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands from this earthquake.  

This will be the final statement issued by GHS/OCD unless additional information is received.
