JIC RELEASE NO. 692 - Eleven of 336 Test Positive for COVID-19; Two GDOE Employees Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Eleven New Cases of COVID-19
Eleven (11) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 336 tests performed Thursday, June 3. Six (6) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,204 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 65 cases in active isolation, and 8,000 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.7.

JIC RELEASE NO. 691 - Six of 530 Test Positive for COVID-19; Three GDOE Students Test Positive for COVID-19; Project U Youth Participant Tests Positive for COVID-19;UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Six New Cases of COVID-19
Six (6) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 530 tests performed Wednesday, June 2. Three (3) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,193 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 63 cases in active isolation, and 7,991 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.5.

JIC RELEASE NO. 690 - Fourteen of 522 Test Positive for COVID-19;UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Fourteen New Cases of COVID-19
Fourteen (14) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 522 tests performed Tuesday, June 1. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. Six (6) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,187 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 62 cases in active isolation, and 7,986 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.5.

Annual Tropical Cyclone, Disaster Preparedness & Climate Virtual Seminar

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office, will host a two-hour Tropical Cyclone and Disaster Preparedness Virtual Seminar from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021.

The objective of the seminar is to familiarize decision makers with the natural hazards that threaten Guam, the behavior of those hazards, emergency information and instructions issued by the NWS and its associates, and how to make critical decisions based on emergency information provided.

JIC RELEASE NO. 689 - Seventeen of 1,242 Test Positive for COVID-19;UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Seventeen New Cases of COVID-19
Seventeen (17) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 1,242 tests performed between Friday, May 28 and Monday, May 31. Three (3) cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. Six (6) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,173 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 51 cases in active isolation, and 7,983 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.3.

No Threat of Development Detected for Tropical System; Officials Continue to Monitor

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office continue to monitor the tropical system, Invest 90W. For now, there is not clear evidence of a well-defined circulation. At this time, 90W poses no threat to the Marianas, nor does it appear to pose any threat of development into a tropical cyclone as it passes just south of Guam and continues generally toward the northwest.


JIC RELEASE NO. 688 - More Variants Identified on Guam;Community Reminded to Practice Caution

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) received an additional set of results from virus samples collected on Guam which have undergone genome sequencing by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Virus samples were collected between March 2021 and April 2021. To date, a total of 116 SARS-CoV-2 virus samples have been submitted to the CDC for genome sequencing.
