COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. The Joint Information Center will report cumulative COVID-19 test results once a day, unless unavailable.
The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s nineteenth COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) this afternoon at approximately 2:48 p.m. (ChST). The patient was a 64-year-old female with comorbidities that were compounded by COVID-19. On August 25, she tested positive for COVID-19 at Guam Regional Medical City and was transferred and admitted to GMH the same day.

The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s seventeenth and eighteenth COVID-19 related fatalities occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) and the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH), respectively.
At approximately 8:46 a.m., a 31-year-old female was pronounced dead on arrival at the GRMC. She was a known COVID-19 case and had underlying health issues. She is Guam’s youngest COVID-19 related death to date.
The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam advised surf remains large enough along west and north facing reefs to maintain a high risk of rip currents. The following advisories remain in effect:
A high surf advisory is in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan until 4 p.m. this afternoon. Hazardous surf at 7 to 9 feet along west and north facing reefs is expected through this afternoon. Avoid venturing out near reef lines and exposed beaches facing north and west. Large breaking waves can knock you down and cause serious injury.
The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s sixteenth COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) this morning at approximately 2:50 a.m. (ChST). The patient was a 49-year-old female with comorbidities that were compounded by COVID-19. She was admitted to GMH on August 27.
