Today, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero signed Executive Order No. 2023-08 relative to lifting the emergency on the public water supply shortage caused by Typhoon Mawar and orders such that:

JIC Recovery Release No. 64 - DSNAP Enrollment Center Updated Hours of Operation

DSNAP Enrollment Center Updated Hours of Operation

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) has updated enrollment hours for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). 

To ensure all interested applicants are seen, both the Micronesia Mall and Guam Premier Outlets enrollment sites will cut off lines TWO HOURS prior to closure. This provides ample time for processing within shopping mall hours. 

JIC Recovery Release No. 63 - Northern Disaster Recovery Center to Relocate Saturday

The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Dededo will transition from the Dededo Sports Complex to Juan M. Guerrero Elementary School beginning Saturday, June 24, open daily, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.  

The Disaster Recovery Center at Dededo Sports Complex will permanently close at 6 p.m. Friday, June 23.

Beginning Saturday, June 24, the DRC locations and hours of operation follow:

  • Guam Community College: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • Juan M. Guerrero Elementary School, Dededo: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

DOAG Crop Loss Compensation Deadline Extended:

The Department of Agriculture (DOAG) Agriculture Development Services Division (ADS) has extended the application deadline for the Crop Loss Compensation Program (CLCP) to 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2023.

Call Center Available to Support Individuals with Disabilities

The University of Guam Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (Guam CEDDERS) has made available to the public a phone service for individuals with disabilities and/or senior citizens seeking assistance due to damages caused by Typhoon Mawar, by calling 311 and selecting Option 2.

 

The call center is made available for those who need assistance with:

  • Applying for FEMA disaster assistance due to Typhoon Mawar

Disaster SNAP Program Launches Thursday, June 22, 2023

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reminds the community that the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) will launch on Thursday, June 20, 2023. D-SNAP provides financial assistance to low-income households that have experienced food loss or damage caused by a natural disaster.

Disaster Recovery Centers Updated Hours:
As a reminder, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) updated their hours of operations. As of Sunday, June 18, 2023, DRC sites operate seven days a week with the following updated times:

  • DRC 1 - Guam Community College: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • DRC 2 - Dededo Sports Complex: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. 

  • DRC 3 - C.L. Taitano Elementary School: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Governor Signs Executive Order No. 2023-07:

Yesterday, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero signed Executive Order No. 2023-07 relative to continuing the State of Emergency in response to Typhoon Mawar and orders such that:

  • State of Emergency continues. The state of emergency declared in Executive Order No. 2023-02 in response to the approach of Tropical Storm Mawar (now Typhoon Mawar) remains in effect.
