Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of two COVID-19-related fatalities:

 
  • The 345th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City on March 25, 2022. The patient was a 41-year-old male, unvaccinated, who had underlying health conditions and tested positive on March 19.

344th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 344th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital on March 29, 2022. The patient was a 76-year-old female, fully vaccinated with a booster, who had underlying health conditions and tested positive on March 11.

343rd COVID-19-related Fatality Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 343rd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam (USNH) on March 29, 2022. The patient was an 87-year-old male, fully vaccinated with a booster, who had underlying health conditions and tested positive on March 28.

GHS/OCD Encourages Applicants for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; Application Deadline Extended to May 9

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) announced on February 9, 2022 that Guam is expected to receive $6 million in Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). This funding is available for Government of Guam entities and private non-profit organizations to address mitigation measures and infrastructural improvements. The application period opened on February 7, 2022. The original deadline for Sub-applications was on March 9, 2022 and is now being extended to May 9, 2022.

Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of two COVID-19-related fatalities: 

 
  • The 341st COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on March 25, 2022. The patient was a 78-year-old female, unvaccinated, who tested positive on March 26.

GHS/OCD, JRM, NBG, and AAFB to Conduct Routine Testing of Advanced Warning Systems

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), Joint Region Marianas (JRM), U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG), and Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB) will conduct routine testing of the vital communication and advance warning system sirens, respectively, on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, starting at 3:15 p.m.

GHS/OCD will test the nineteen (19) All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) sirens in conjunction with JRM, NBG, and AAFB monthly routine testing of the “Giant Voice (GV)” sirens.
