JIC RELEAES NO. 960 - 307th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported; Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 295 New Cases, 70 Hospitalized; 61 Cases with Variants of Concern Identified; Additional COVID-19 Updates

307th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 307th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) Guam on February 11, 2022. The patient was a 78-year-old male, vaccinated, with underlying health conditions who tested positive on February 11. 

Earthquake Recorded

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 that struck 157 km SSW of Merizo Village, Guam, with a depth of 10.0 km, at 12:05 p.m. (ChST)

There were no reports made to Guam 911 dispatch of damages or injuries from the earthquake and there was no tsunami threat to the Marianas. 

Two Earthquakes Recorded

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded two additional earthquakes this morning:
 
One with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 that struck 173 km SSW of Merizo Village, Guam, with a depth of 10.0 km, at 7:37 a.m. (ChST).
 
Another with a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 that struck 164 km S of Merizo Village, Guam, with a depth of 10.0 km, at 8:09 a.m. (ChST).
 

Earthquake Recorded

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 that struck 176 km S of Merizo Village, Guam, with a depth of 44.1 km, at 6:29 a.m. (ChST).

There were no reports made to Guam 911 dispatch of damages or injuries from the earthquake and there was no tsunami threat to the Marianas.

JIC RELEASE NO. 957 - DPHSS Northern Region Community Health Center Clinic Closed this Morning Due to Water Outage, COVID-19 Testing Continues Normal Hours

The Northern Region Community Health Center (NRCHC) clinic will be closed this morning as a result of an extended water outage in the nearby Dededo area. According to the Guam Waterworks Authority, expected restoration is at 12 p.m. The regular clinic and vaccination clinic will tentatively re-open at 1 p.m. 

The COVID-19 Testing outreach held at the NRCHC will continue normal operations from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. by appointment only by calling (671) 635-7525/6.

306th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported
Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 306th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on February 10, 2022. The patient was an 83-year-old male, vaccinated, with underlying health conditions who tested positive on February 6 and again on February 10, 2022. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 955 - Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported; COVID-19 Test Results: 622 New Cases, 50 Hospitalized; DPHSS Issues COVID-19 Data Surveillance Update Report; Additional COVID-19 Updates

Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of two (2) COVID-19-related fatalities:

  • The 304th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) on February 10, 2022. The patient was a 48-year-old male, unknown vaccination, with underlying health conditions who tested positive on February 10, 2022.
