JIC RELESE NO. 914 - 274th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported; COVID-19 Test Results: 243 New Cases, 12 Hospitalized; Tiyan COVID-19 Outreach Moves to Appointment-Based Testing

274th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported
The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 274th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital on December 2, 2021. The patient was a 76-year-old female, vaccinated with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on September 18, 2021. 

Hazardous Surf and Seas Remain through Friday; Inexperienced Swimmers Reminded to Stay Out of the Water

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office advised fresh to strong northeasterly winds and mixed north and northeast swell will keep surf elevated along north and east facing reefs through Friday afternoon. East swell will likely build Friday, possibly making surf hazardous along east facing reefs.

Three COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported
Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of three (3) COVID-19-related fatalities:

  • The 271st COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on December 24, 2021. The patient was a 76-year-old female, vaccinated with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on December 24, 2021.
