NWS Advisories in Effect; Strong Winds Expected

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam have the following advisories in effect:

An wind advisory is in effect for the Guam International Airport until 6 p.m. East-northeast winds of 24 mph with frequent gusts around 29-31 mph are expected. 

small craft advisory is in effect for the coastal waters of Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan until 6 a.m. Tuesday. East winds of 24 to 29 mph with gusts to 34 mph and combined seas of 6 to 9 feet will produce hazardous conditions for small craft for the next couple of days. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid sailing in these conditons. 

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to practice caution when traveling in heavier winds.
