NWS Issues Short Term Forecast for Guam

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short-term forecast for Guam. Now through 2 p.m., locally heavy showers are possible across central and northern Guam.

Brief flooding of roads and poor drainage areas are possible. Daytime heating may generate a few thunderstorms during the afternoon.

If driving, be alert for flooding of roads, as well as low visibilities in heavy rain. If thunder is heard or lightning is seen, seek shelter indoors or in an enclosed vehicle.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to practice extreme caution while traveling in these rainy conditions, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles.
