NWS Issues Short Term Forecast; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short-term forecast for Guam.

Through 12:30 p.m., periods of heavy showers will produce up to an inch of rain across villages of western Yigo, southern Dededo, Piti, Asan, Nimitz Hill, Agana Heights, Apra Harbor and adjacent waters.

The community is reminded to be alert for brief locally heavy downpours and low visibility. Be cautious with slippery roads and ponding of water on roads. Boaters should be prepared for visibilities down to half a mile and for higher waves in heavy showers.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to practice extreme caution while traveling in these rainy conditions, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles.
