UPDATE: Flood Damage Recovery Continues Tomorrow

Multi-Agency Response to Flood Damage
The Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) Emergency Operations Center (EOC) resumed activation as of 5 a.m. this morning, in support of flood damage response. The EOC will deactivate at 7:30 p.m. this evening and resume activation at 6 a.m.Thursday.
 
The extension to tomorrow is needed to complete flood damage recovery operations. The following agencies supported the mission today:

Ø  GHS/OCD
Ø  DPW
Ø  MCoG
Ø  Guam Waterworks Authority
Ø  Guam Environmental Protection Agency
Ø  Department of Agriculture
Ø  The Guam National Guard
 
Tomorrow, only GHS/OCD, DPW, MCoG, and the Guam National Guard will continue recovery operations.
 
The following locations have been worked on throughout the day and deemed “All Clear”:

o   Rt. 4, Pago Bay area – Debris removed and road cleared
o   Mai Mai Rd., Chalan Pago – Debris removed and road cleared
o   Daso Rd. (Ponding Basin), Sinajana – Debris removed and road cleared
o   Famha, Ordot - Chalan Pago – Debris removed and road cleared
o   Rt. 7 (Sylvan Learning Center area), Hagatna Guam – Debris removed and road cleared
o   Kanada area, Barrigada – Debris removed and road cleared
o   Inarajan Village cross drains – Debris removed and road cleared
o   Rt. 4 in front of Malojloj transfer station – Reported pothole filled
o   Across Blueberry Mart – Reported pothole filled
 
The following locations will continue to be assessed and/or worked on:

o   Naki Street, Chalan Pago
o   Fonte River Location (White Lady Bridge)
o   Umatac Bridge
o   Roads in various villages based on MCoG assessments
 
Individuals Displaced due to the Flood
As of 5 p.m. today, there have been no reports to village mayors of individuals displaced due to the flood. Those individuals who would like to report severe flood damage are advised to contact the GHS/OCD 24/7 Watch Desk at (671) 475-9600 or (671) 482-7019.
