Volcanic Haze Advisory in Effect through Wednesday Morning

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a volcanic haze advisory, in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan through Wednesday morning. A band of haze is reaching the Marianas along easterly trade-wind flow from the Hawaii region, likely originating from the recent Kilauea activity from September 10 – 16. Depending on winds around the Marianas, the density of haze will be variable the next few days.

Reduced visibility to below 5 miles is expected. Persons with poor respiratory conditions may want to stay indoors while the advisory is in effect.
