Wind Advisory in Effect; Red Flag Warning in Effect through Today

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has an airport wind advisory in effect for the Guam International Airport until 7 p.m. this evening. Winds from the east-northeast at 15 to 20 knots, with gusts to 30 knots, are possible.  

red flag warning remains in effect for Guam until 5 p.m. today. Northeast to east winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts to 30 mph, and humidity at 50 to 60 percent in the afternoon are expected. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

small craft advisory remains in effect for the coastal waters of Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan until 5 a.m. Tuesday. East winds of 15 to 25 knots, with gusts up to 30 knots, and seas of 8 to 12 feet are expected. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to avoid hazardous seas. Refrain from outdoor burning.
