Flood Advisory in Effect; Practice Caution and Remain Out of the Water

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a flood advisory in effect for Guam until 3:15 p.m. this afternoon. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain has already fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, water on roadways, and overflowing of poor drainage areas are expected.
   

No Immediate Threat to Marianas Assessed from Reported North Korea Launch

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today. 
 
   

Practice Caution in Heavy Showers and Gusty Winds

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a special weather statement for Guam. Heavy showers with gusty winds are expected along a line extending from 25 miles east of Andersen AFB to 10 miles southwest of Merizo. Winds of 35 mph are possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
