TD 06W JIC Release No. 2 - Tropical Depression 06W Continues Toward Guam; Guam Remains in COR 3

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam continues to monitor Tropical Depression 06W. 

As of 7 p.m., 06W was located 12.1 degrees north latitude and 146.0 degrees east longitude, about 125 miles southeast of Guam. It is currently moving west-northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 705 - Seventeen of 1,139 Tests Positive for COVID-19; Declaration Form Available for those Without Secondary Vaccination Verification; COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

Results: Seventeen New Case of COVID-19
Seventeen (17) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 1,139 tests performed Friday, June 18 to Sunday, June 20. Two (2) cases were identified through contact tracing. Eight (8) cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,284 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 51 cases in active isolation, and 8,094 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.4.

TD06W JIC Release No. 1 - Guam to Move to COR 3 by 6 PM

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero will place Guam in Condition of Readiness (COR) 3 at 6 p.m. this evening. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam, meaning tropical storm conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more, are expected early Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon.

The change from COR 4 to COR 3 is out of an abundance of caution in preparation for Tropical Depression 06W’s approach to Guam. However, there is no anticipated change in COR settings for the respective military bases at this time. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 704 - June 22 Tiyan Drive-thru Testing Canceled Due to Inclement Weather; COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics to Remain Open

June 22 Tiyan Drive-through Testing Canceled
Out of an abundance of caution, COVID-19 drive-through community testing at the Old Carnival Grounds in Tiyan scheduled for Tuesday, June 22 has been canceled due to expected inclement weather conditions. The Northern Region Community Health Center (NRCHC) in Dededo will remain open for COVID-19 testing for scheduled appointments only. To schedule an appointment, call 635-7525/6.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor what is now Tropical Depression 06W, formerly known as Joint Typhoon Warning Center Invest Area 94W.

A tropical storm warning is now in effect for Guam, meaning tropical storm conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more, are expected early Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon.

Officials Monitor Tropical Disturbance Near Chuuk; Development Possible as it Moves Toward Marianas

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor a tropical disturbance just southeast of Chuuk. “Invest Area 94W” is currently unorganized with a broad circulation located near 6 degrees north latitude and 153 degrees east longitude. It is expected to organize over the next 36 hours and it is in a favorable location for further development, as it tracks west-northwestward toward Guam.

One (1) new case of COVID-19 was identified out of 372 tests performed Thursday, June 17. To date, there have been a total of 8,267 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 51 cases in active isolation, and 8,077 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.3.
