299th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported
Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 299th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on February 7, 2022. The patient was an 83-year-old male, partially vaccinated, who tested positive on February 7.
Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported
Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of two (2) COVID-19-related fatalities:
The 297th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on February 6, 2022. The patient was an 81-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions who tested positive on January 19, 2022.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has the following advisories in effect:
A high surf advisory will be in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan from 6 p.m. this evening to 6 a.m. Tuesday. Large breaking waves of 7 to 9 feet are expected along north facing reefs.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office maintains the small craft advisory for the coastal waters of Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan, in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Northeast winds of 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots, and seas of 8 to 10 feet by tonight, are expected. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

The Northern Region Community Health Center (NRCHC) clinic will be temporarily closed this afternoon from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for cleaning and disinfection.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has maintained a high risk of rip currents in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan through tonight. Dangerous rip currents remain for east facing reefs of the Marianas. Reefs and coastlines facing north to northeast may also see heightened rip currents.
