GHS/OCD Host Community Resilience Training

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC), will host the “Community Resilience (AWR-228)” training on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the GHS/OCD facility, Agana Heights.

NWS Issues Fire Weather Watch for Guam

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office, issued a fire weather watch for Guam, in effect through late Sunday night. A fire weather watch means critical fire weather conditions may occur.

JIC Release No. 22 - Guam in COR 4, All Clear

Hagåtña, Guam – Acting Governor Joshua F. Tenorio and Brig. Gen. Gentry Boswell, deputy commander, Joint Region Marianas, have placed Guam and the respective military bases in Condition of Readiness (COR) 4 as of 1 p.m. COR 4 means damaging winds are no longer expected for the Marianas.

JIC Release No. 15 - Guam in COR 1; Remain Indoors

Hagåtña, Guam – Acting Governor Joshua F. Tenorio has placed Guam in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1 as of 12 p.m. COR 1 means damaging winds are expected or have already arrived. The island is forecast to experience heavy flooding, especially in low-lying areas. A flash flood warning is in effect until 6:30 p.m.
