JIC Release No. 10 - Typhoon Wutip – Healthcare Update

In anticipation of Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 at 4:00 p.m., note the following healthcare updates:

Department of Public Health and Social Services

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) announces that at Condition of Readiness (COR) 2, the Northern Region Community Health Center (NRCHC) in Dededo and the Southern Region Community Health Center (SRCHC) in Inarajan will remain open and the following limited services will be provided:

    Tropical Storm Warning in Effect for Guam; COR 2 Anticipated for 4 p.m. Today

    The National Weather Service (NWS) - Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor Tropical Storm Wutip. NWS has placed Guam in a Tropical Storm Warning as of 11 a.m. Guam remains in Condition of Readiness 3 at this time. Acting Governor Tenorio and Brig. Gen. Boswell anticipate placing Guam and the respective military bases in COR 2 at 4 p.m. today, February 22, 2019.

    There is a fake notice being circulated via WhatsApp and social media that states that Guam will move to COR
    2 by 8 a.m.

    JIC Release No. 3 - Wutip Continues Toward the Marianas as a Typhoon; GovGuam to Continue Normal Operations Until COR 2 is Announced

    The National Weather Service (NWS) - Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor Wutip, which was upgraded to a typhoon this afternoon. 


    As of 4 p.m., Wutip was located near latitude 6.9 degrees north and longitude 149.3 degrees east, about 185 miles west-southwest of Chuuk and 550 miles southeast of Guam; moving west-northwest at 16 mph with maximum sustained winds now at 75 mph.
